Bulldogs Finish Regular Season with Dominant Road Sweep

Mississippi State Baseball continued its hot streak as they completed the sweep over Missouri at Taylor Stadium this afternoon.

The Diamond Dawgs began the series on Thursday with a statement 25-7 win before clinching the series yesterday in a run-rule victory, 13-3. However, the dominant offensive stretch didn’t stop there for State.

The bats remained on fire as State claimed another run-rule, 12-1 victory over the Tigers after a six-run first inning set the tone. They finished the series winning overall by a 50-11 margin.

Hunter Hines, who passed State baseball legend Rafael Palmeiro for the MSU all-time home run record on Friday, extended his record with a two-run bomb to bring his career to 69 homers. Ace Reese and Noah Sullivan both smashed home runs of their own en route to a multi-hit game and State’s 11-hit performance. Reese also extended his hitting streak to 21 games in the effort.

Mississippi State batted 15 home runs in the series, which is the most in a series this season. In addition, the Diamond Dawgs tied their single-season record for home runs after Reese crushed the team’s 97th 0f 2025. The previous record was set during the 1998 season.

Justin Parker is now 9-1 as interim Head Coach, and State continues to build momentum into the SEC Tournament. The Bulldogs finish with a 15-15 conference record to earn the 11 seed in the Tournament and is set to face 14th-seeded Texas A&M on Tuesday night in Hoover at 8 p.m. Central time.
