Gulf Coast To Begin 2025 Soccer Campaign in Late August

Mississippi Gulf Coast will begin its 2025 men’s soccer season at home on August 22 as they take on Johnson County from Kansas at Bary Thrash Field.

Head coach Chris Handy enters his 14th season running the program, and has racked up a 146-67-19 overall record during his time in Perkinston. The Bulldogs have also won at least 10 games in 10 of the last 12 seasons.

In 2024, the Bulldogs went 12-3-5 overall and lost only one game in MACCC play. The mark earned Gulf Coast a trip to the national tournament for the second time in school history.

The 2025 schedule will consist of nine home games, including two of the three games in August taking place at Bary Thrash Field. After facing Johnson County, they will travel t0 East Central before returning home to kick off against Pearl River to close out the month of August.

September will feature three out of seven games in Perkinston. The Bulldogs open up on the road against Jones College on the third and then Hinds on the fifth. Georgia Military College will pay a visit to Perkinston on May 12 before Meridian comes to town on the 16th to officially kick off MACCC play. Gulf Coast will follow up with rematches against Pearl River and East Central, both counting towards conference records. The month will end with the Bulldogs traveling to Southwest on September 26th.

October will consist of all conference games to close out the regular season before competing in the Gulf South District Tournament at the beginning of November.
