Holmes Baseball Hires New Head Coach
Holmes Community College has hired former Copiah-Lincoln baseball head coach Adam Chamblee as the new head coach of the Bulldogs baseball team. Chamblee spent the last three seasons at Co-Lin where he led the Wolves to two runs in the Region 23 Tournament and sixth place in the MACCC.
Chamblee played high school baseball in Winona before playing in college for the University of West Alabama. He was a member of the 2015 Gulf South Conference Championship team and also earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education with a concentration in sports management.
Just before Co-Lin, Chamblee was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at East Central Community College over the span of three seasons. In 2021, the Warriors finished as NJCAA Region 23 Runners-Up. Then, the Warriors were ranked at No. 5 in the country at one point during the 2025 season.
Chamblee is excited to get started with the Bulldogs and he has multiple objectives for the team after Holmes made the Region 23 playoffs this past season for the first time since 2011.
“I think one of the first things is reaching out to the current players and telling them what our vision for the program will be,” he said. “Congratulating the returning players on the year they had last year. We want those types of years every year and let them know they are in good hands.”
Coach Chamblee was also drawn to Holmes because he grew up in the Winona area.
“This is almost like home for me,” he said. “Growing up in Winona in the Holmes district just allows me to know the people and area so well. There is plenty of tradition throughout the college and baseball program. It was an opportunity to get to a place that’s closer to home and a place that feels like home.”
