William Carey University stuns Southeastern in a 9-0 soccer victory and ends Blue Mountain Christian’s 42-game winning streak for volleyball.

William Carey University’s women’s soccer team delivered a jaw-dropping performance against opponent Southeastern University. From the opening whistle, it was clear that William Carey University had come to win. Their offense, led by a relentless forward line quickly overwhelmed Southeastern. The victory began with their first goal, scored in the 9th minute and followed by with another in the 10th. By minute 15, the score was 3-0, and you get the idea. The score reflects that at the end of the day, William Carey’s team outplayed their opponents. However, the score is not the most accurate representation of the game. Southeastern came out with a point to prove in the opening few minutes of the second half after being down 0-3. As a team they got the short end of the stick, with multiple crossbar shots and a disallowed goal. By the end of the 90th minute, the scoreboard lit up with an astonishing display of 9-0, a score rarely seen in soccer.

Similarly, the William Carey volleyball team took down the reigning SSAC Champions and ended their 42 game SSAC win streak. The matchup was a thrilling five set game, one that was evenly matched. The first set ended 25-23 with a William Carey victory after three straight kills. The second set was also won by William Carey’s team after an explosive 15 straight points. Blue Mountain answered and won the third set, making the overall score 2-1. Blue mountain won the next set to tie it 2-2, leaving fans on the edge of their seat. The Lady Crusader’s clutched up, winning the last and final set to secure a 3-2 victory. The match showcased William Carey’s exceptional skill and determination, as they outperformed the previously unbeaten Blue Mountain Christian team. This historic win not only highlights William Carey’s rise in collegiate volleyball but also marks a significant shift in the competitive landscape.
