The state of Mississippi is all too familiar with outstanding track and field athletes. Mississippi College track and field team is excited to announce that as of April 17, two of their teammates have won GSC men’s OTF weekly awards. These two student athletes, named Jan Lucas Becker and Bryan Puckett, have both been awarded these titles based on an astonishing performance in competition this past week. Becker earned men’s track athlete of the week while his teammate Puckett received men’s field athlete of the week.

He competed in the shotput and was able to end with a mark of 51-0.25 feet which earned him runner-up honors and No.3 in the GSC. He also holds the No.2 spot in program history. That is not all; the freshman was able to place in another field event, men’s hammer throw, with a distance of 160–7 feet. He now sits at the top for all freshmen and both events in the GSC list.
