Pearl River Fills Women’s Basketball Coaching Staff With Another Hire

First year head coach of Pearl River Women’s Basketball Shanae Govan-Williams rounded out her coaching staff for the 2025-26 season with the hire of Tyler Bogan.

Bogan earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Recreation Administration from the University of Mississippi while also serving as a manager for the women’s basketball team at Ole Miss. For the 2024-25 basketball season, Bogan was a volunteer assistant coach at Northwest Mississippi Community College.

Prior to Northwest, he was the head coach for the SSB AAU 17U boys team from 2022 to 2024. Govan-Williams shared her thoughts on her hire.

“I believe Tyler was the perfect candidate for this position because of his experience being around one of the most successful women’s basketball programs in Mississippi (Ole Miss),” coach said. “His experience coaching AAU in North Mississippi will help us with recruiting also. He was the perfect fit to finalize our coaching staff.”

Earlier this year, Pearl River hired a new head coach for the women’s basketball program in Govan-Williams for the first time in over a decade. She now adds another person who will make a big contribution to coaching and player development for the Wildcats.
