Pearl River’s Five All-American Selections Sets Record

Pearl River Baseball’s 2025 season was a historic one in multiple ways, including a record-setting 53-win campaign and a National Runner-up finish for the Wildcats. However, the achievements don’t end there.

The All-Americans for the 2025 season were selected, and Pearl River had a program-record five baseball athletes earn selections. The five selections grow the program’s all-time list to 21, and the Wildcats have now had at least one player mentioned in each of the last seven seasons.

KK Clark’s lone year at Pearl River was a huge success. As a transfer from Mississippi State, Clark led the Wildcats with 88 innings pitched, recording a 1.84 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 116 total strikeouts. The strikeouts ranked him at fourth in the nation. Clark ended the season with a 12-2 record, tying him for second nationally.

Clark’s outstanding season earned him an All-American First Team selection. He will continue his collegiate career next year playing for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.

Jacob Keys was named an All-American in both of his seasons at Pearl River. In 2025, Keys batted .333, notched a .490 on-base percentage and a .582 slugging percentage for the Wildcats. As for totals, Keys batted 73 runs (third most in a season in PRCC history), 50 RBIs, 38 walks, 17 doubles and 10 homers. The 2025 season earned Keys a Second Team selection. He will continue playing baseball at Southeastern Louisiana in 2026.

Topher Jones transferred from Mississippi State in January but was able to adjust to the change quickly. In 28 conference games during 2025, Jones tallied a whopping .452 batting average along with an .817 slugging percentage. He led the Wildcats with 72 RBIs to go along with 76 hits, 16 doubles, 29 walks, 11 home runs and two triples.

Jones was selected to the Third Team for his efforts this season. He has already been selected to First Team All-MACCC and All-Region 23.

Jacob Johnson pitched 71 innings for the Wildcats in 2025 and finished with a 2.28 ERA and 1.03 WHIP. Johnson struck out 70 batters while only walking 24 batters and and allowing 18 earned runs. He also had 12 wins on the season, which tied with KK Clark for second nationally. Johnson earned an Honorable Mention for 2025 and will continue his career at Auburn in 2026.

Caston Thompson spent three years at Pearl River, redshirting in 2023 and battling in injury in 2024. But the 2025 season was a remarkable year for Thompson. He notched a .370 batting average, a .483 on-base percentage and a .649 slugging percentage. Thompson totaled 78 hits, 68 RBIs, 17 doubles and 14 homers along with walking 45 times. The 45 walks ranked second in program history.

On the defensive side, Thompson only recorded five errors in 434 chances to give him a .988 fielding percentage. He earned All-American Second Team as a result of his performance in 2025.
