Rebels, Golden Eagles and Diamond Dawgs Make NCAA Baseball Tournament Field

The 2025 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship field was announced Monday, and three Mississippi squads are going dancing. Take a look at the matchups for the Road to Omaha:

Ole Miss
After a strong push to the SEC Championship, the Rebels earned the No. 10 overall seed and a hosting bid for their regional. They’ll open up tournament play Friday where they will face the Murray State Racers who are making their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2003. Georgia Tech earned the two seed for the Oxford Regional and will face third-seeded Western Kentucky.

Ole Miss will be hosting a Regional for the 11th time at Swayze Field, all under Mike Bianco. A win in the Regional for the Rebels will lead to a Super Regional against the winner of the Athens Regional, hosted by the 7th nationally seeded Georgia Bulldogs.

Southern Miss
The Golden Eagles earned the host site as the No. 16 overall seed for the fourth time in program history at Pete Taylor Park. As the top seed in the Hattiesburg Regional, the Golden Eagles will kick off play against fourth-seeded Columbia, winners of the 2025 Ivy League Tournament. The No. 2 seed Alabama Crimson Tide will meet third-seeded Miami (FL) on the other side of the Regional.

If the Golden Eagles are victorious, they will likely travel to Nashville to face off against the No. 1 overall seed Vanderbilt Commodores, champions of the SEC.

Mississippi State
The Diamond Dawgs rode a surge of momentum at the decline of the season with interim Head Coach Justin Parker to finish 15-15 in conference play after a 3-9 start. State has won nine of its last 11 games and sit at 34-21 overall. The Bulldogs are traveling to Tallahassee for the fifth time in program history to face the nationally ninth-seeded Florida State Seminoles.

As the No. 3 seed in the Tallahassee Regional, State will face the second-seeded Northeastern Howlin Huskies, champions of the Coastal Athletic Association. The Huskies have won 27 games in a row and will be tough competition for the Diamond Dawgs. Top-seeded Florida State will open up against No. 4 seed Bethune-Cookman.

Last time Mississippi State played in a Tallahassee Regional in 2018, Elijah MacNamee hit a walk-0ff home run to punch a ticket to a Super Regional.
