Southern Miss Baseball: Ranked Over State and Right Behind Ole MIss

Southern Mississippi’s baseball team, the War Eagles, is making waves in NCAA Division I baseball, with a current ranking of 24th in the nation. As the second-highest ranked team in Mississippi, they are quickly gaining attention not only within the state but also across the country.

Competing in the Sun Belt Conference, Southern Miss has a solid 9-4 record so far this season. While their performance in the Sun Belt is impressive, the War Eagles find themselves in a competitive environment, ranked alongside Mississippi’s other powerhouse programs—Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Ole Miss, ranked 13th, is known for its high-level play and consistent success in the SEC, while Mississippi State, ranked 67th, has faced some challenges this season.
