Superbulldog SEC Series Sweep
This past weekend, Mississippi State baseball underwent its famous Super Bulldog weekend. The maroon and white baseball team was matched up against SEC opponent Auburn University, which resulted in the Bulldogs securing their first SEC series sweep since 2021.
After an overall loss to Ole Miss the previous weekend, Mississippi State got their head back in the game. Mississippi State was able to start the series sweep strong with an 8-1 victory over their SEC opponent. The Saturday game got canceled due to rain, and they played two games back to back on Sunday. The Diamond Dogs were able to knock it out of the park once again with a 3-1 triumph followed by a 4-3 victory. With other recent wins against Alcorn State and Memphis, alongside this series sweep, State is now riding a five game winning streak.
They are set to play Vanderbilt in a series matchup this weekend (April 26th – April 28th). This Tennessee team is ranked No. 11 and Mississippi State is not favored to win, but the Dawgs put up good fights against ranked opponents. Vanderbilt vs Mississippi State on April 26th will be at 6 PM, on April 27th it will be at 2 PM, and on April 28th it will be at 1 PM. You can tune into ESPN+ to watch any of these games.
