The Players Make the Team: 5 State Players on Top 100 List
Mississippi State women’s soccer team has been hogging the headlines by breaking record after record. The team has never performed this well in program history, and each week they reach new heights and break new records.
The record breaking began when the team was ranked No. 9 a couple weeks ago, the highest ranking in Bulldog program history. Since then, they have continued to dominate in conference play, even up against tough opponents like No. 1 Arkansas.
Mississippi State is currently ranked as the 4th best women’s college soccer team in ALL of the United States. The ranking comes from their clean record of 10-1 overall and a dominating 4-0 in conference play. The team is on a seven game winning streak and is set to play Georgia later today.
This team works effortlessly together. With remarkable chemistry on the field, there are some individual talents that are worth noting. As Mississippi State’s soccer program states, “TopDrawerSoccer has announced its list of the Top 100 Players thus far in 2024. No. 4 State soccer landed five Bulldogs on the list, showcasing the depth and talent of the 2024 squad. The Bulldogs were the only team in the country to have three within the top 25 and the most overall with five selections.”

Ranked No. 18: Alexis Gutierrez (Forward)
Ranked No. 46: Ilana Izquierdo (Midfielder)
