Three Bobcats Selected As NJCAA All-Americans
The NJCAA Division II Softball All-American Teams have been announced, and three athletes from Jones College made the cut.
Makynlie Jones was named the NFCA Division II Player of the Year, the MACCC Player of the Year and NJCAA All-Region 23 before being named to the All-American First Team. The outfielder had an outstanding sophomore campaign with the Bobcats where she batted .445 and recorded 19 doubles, three triples, 26 home runs and 103 RBIs, the most in the Bobcats’ division.
Jones also received the NJCAA Division II Rawlings Golden Glove Award, becoming one of only four NJCAA players to receive the award in consecutive years. She has signed with Northwestern State where she will continue her career.
Sophomore third baseman Emily Mizelle was also named to the First Team this week. Mizelle led the MACCC with a mind-boggling .482 batting average. In addition, Mizelle tacked on 23 homers, 15 doubles, 88 RBIs and a 1.444 OPS. Mizelle’s work this year also earned her First Team All-MACCC, NFCA All-South Region and NJCAA All-Region 23 selections.
The third player to be selected was sophomore pitcher Jayden Sawyer, who earned a Third Team selection. Sawyer tallied a 14-4 record in 2025 with a 2.95 ERA, allowing only 79 hits and striking out 182 in the process. She was named Most Outstanding Pitcher in the 2025 NJCAA Division II World Series.
Although Sawyer was named to the Third Team as a pitcher, she also had a productive year offensively for the Bobcats, averaging .316 with 16 home runs, 51 RBIs and a .621 sluggling percentage. Sawyer was also named All-MACCC and NJCAA All-Region 23, and she will continue her career at William Carey University.
