A Look Into EMCC’s 2025 Football Schedule
This week, East Mississippi Community College announced its 2025 football schedule highlighted by five home games in Scooba.
Head Coach Buddy Stephens enters his 18th season with the program. Over the last 17 seasons, the Lions have racked up a 148-28 (.841) record and five national championships along with nine conference titles. Stephens is ranked third on the NJCAA’s all-time list for career winning percentage among coaches with at least 100 games coached.
The nine-game regular season schedule will kick off against Mississippi Gulf Coast, the reigning MACCC playoff semifinalist, on Aug. 28. The next two weeks are home games for the Lions as they face MACCC South Division rival Hinds on Sep. 4 followed by defending MACCC Champion Northwest Mississippi on Sep. 11.
Following a road trip on Sep. 18 to Itawamba Community College in a North Division matchup, the Lions will conclude the month of September in Clarksdale and stay within division play as they face off against Coahoma in its 2025 Homecoming game on Sep. 27.
The week of Sep.29-Oct. 5 will be a bye for the MACCC. Afterwards, three of the last four games for EMCC during the regular season will be played in Scooba at Sullivan-Windham field. The Lions’ first game in October will be Homecoming week where the Northeast Mississippi Tigers visit. After hosting Pearl River the following week on Oct. 16, EMCC will travel to Moorhead and face Mississippi Delta on Oct. 23 before closing out the regular season at home against reigning MACCC playoff semifinalist Holmes on Oct. 30.
East Mississippi is currently on a streak of 16 consecutive non-losing football seasons under Buddy Stephens. The 2024 season saw the Lions finish with a 5-4 overall record and a 4-2 division mark, and East has gone at least 4-2 in division play every season since 2008.
The Lions seek another national championship in 2025, and the fans from Scooba and all over will be there to support.
