A Name to Look Out For: Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan

Track and field season is upon us, and Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan is throwing his name onto the record book.

Ole Miss track and field sophomore is becoming a star as he breaks a school record in this week’s competition. He broke a facility record, an Ole Miss outdoor record, and is now ranked NCAA No.1 and U.S. No. 4. A field athlete, Robinson-O’Hagan threw his shotput a whopping 20.69m to break all of these records. As only a sophomore, he is expected to do so much more this season and his years to come.

He had previously been named SEC indoor men’s field athlete of the year, and there is no surprise to why. He is the third Rebel to ever win the men’s SEC indoor award, alongside Olympian Ricky Robertson from 2012, and Sam Kendrick in 2014. He is the first Ole Miss athlete to break the 66 feet for a shotput throw indoors and with only two years in red and blue, Robinson has also been the first to throw 64, 65, and 66 feet indoors and the first to throw 63, 64, and 65 outdoors. With an arm like that, he will throw himself into success and has hopes to compete on a national stage.
