Slept On: Julia Lopez Ramirez Makes MSU History
As one of Mississippi State’s most impressive golfers, Julia Lopez Ramirez breaks a record this weekend- again.
Julia Lopez Ramirez is now an intercollegiate individual co-champion after shooting the lowest round in the history of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. Julia now solely owns the most individual victories in program history.
Ramirez is confident with her swing, having 12 notable awards given to her in her two years of playing for the Bulldogs. Ramirez has awards such as SEC golfer of the week, All-American first team selection, and more. She has won first place in the 2023 NCAA Westfield regionals, she has the lowest season scoring average, ranks first all time in rounds in the 60s, and also has the most Par or Better Rounds in a season.
With over 15 top five finishes, she is not stopping anytime soon. Ramirez breaking this record is a demonstration of how this junior from Spain is going to wrap it in maroon and white many times to come.
