5th Consecutive Conference Title for Lady Tigers

Back to back is an understatement.

The Jackson State women’s basketball team has now won the Southern Women’s Conference for the fifth year in a row. These regular season champs are not new to this victory, as they have been winning it consecutively since the 2019 season.  The lady Tigers were able to claim their fifth consecutive regular season title with the win over PVAMU.

The Southern Atlantic Conference (SWAC) is important when it comes to HBCU conferences all around the country. It is known as in elite conference in terms of HBCU athletics, alumni, and professional sports team. The SWAC awarded Miya Crump from Jackson State University as the top women’s player of the week following her outstanding play in the final match. Crump was able to average about 20 points per game in this past week, alongside averaging eight rebounds per game in shooting 63% from outside the three-point line.

Can they do it again next year?
