Meet Freshman Super Star, Keenan Franks
Pearl Rivers recruited an absolute star, one that will only shine brighter as the years progress. The notable freshman has made quite the mark with it being his first year on the field at the collegiate level. Meet Keenan Franks, Pearl River’s freshman starter from State Line, Mississippi.
Franks played football in high school for Greene County, where he earned some impressive statistics like rushing 131 times for 696 yards and five touchdowns, catching five passes for 43 yards and a score, and doing all of this while also playing basketball. With athleticism in his bones, the star has continued to dominate at the college level.
This past football game, against a No. 4 ranked team, Keenan Franks had his third straight 100-yard rushing game, carrying the ball 16 times for 111 yards and a score. Not only is this an impressive statistic, it is a record breaking one. He is the first Wildcat to do this since quarterback Markevion Quinn in 2017. However, Franks is not a quarterback. As a running back, this makes him the first running back to accomplish the feat since Darious Leggett back in 2016. Breaking records is always impressive, but breaking records against a No. 4 ranked opponent shows Franks true drive and resilience as a player.
Pearl River as a whole has opened their football season 3-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play. Their next game will be Thursday, October 10th against Copiah-Lincoln Community College. It will be a home game, and Pearl River stands 1-0 for home games so far.
