Mississippi State’s High School Star Commit Stolen by Phillies
Meet Dante Nori: former Mississippi State commit who just got drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies fresh out of high school.
The 19 year old had committed to Mississippi State because of its astounding baseball program, hoping the program would lead him to the big leagues. State’s program has produced almost 70 MLB players, 38 of which have been under State’s current head coach, Chris Lemonis. However, Nori chased his MLB dream tonight and was picked up in the first round by the Phillies for $2.5 million. He was the Phillies only first-round pick.
Nori would have been a real asset to the Bulldogs. He stands at 5-foot-11 and plays as an outfielder, one who is currently regarded as the best of the best in terms of new, rising faces in baseball. The Bulldogs and Phillies both share similar traits of a rich history and passionate fan bases, and Nori will be a key addition to the Phillies roster as he would have been for the Bulldogs.
