Northwest Community College Women’s Soccer Headed to Championship, Again

Northwest Community College will take the field Thursday against No. 7 Jones in the NJCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championship.

The Rangers have had an undeniably exceptional season. At 19-1-1, Northwest is riding high on an eight-game winning streak. With a balanced offensive-defensive playbook, the Rangers are a clear championship favorite.

Offensively, Northwest has dominated conference play this season. Their highest-scoring, and one of their most exciting, performances was a flawless 12-0 rout of East Mississippi. That match was one of four matches this season in which the Rangers scored 10 or more goals.

Of course, defense is just as critical to a team’s success. The Rangers’ defense has been just as dominant as their offense. Northwest has recorded a stunning 11 shutouts, a testament to both a unified back line and a standout goalkeeper.

The Rangers are no strangers to championship expectations. Last year, Northwest finished with a 22-0 undefeated record, capturing a national title in the process. With another powerhouse season under their belts, the question now is whether this year’s squad can bring home a second straight championship.
