Rebels’ Track & Field Star Added to Bowerman Watch List For Eighth Time in Career

Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan, a junior track and field star at Ole Miss and a three-time reigning NCAA shot put champion, was named to The Bowerman award watch list every time in 2025, only one of three athletes in the nation to accomplish the feat.

The Bowerman, considered to be track & field’s version of the Heisman Trophy, is awarded to collegiate track & field’s top male and female athlete of the year, with the season running from November 29, 2024 to June 14, 2025. The award was first given out in 2009.

Robinson-O’Hagan makes his eighth appearance on The Bowerman watch list in his collegiate career. He was a semifinalist for the award in 2024 when he swept the NCAA men’s shot put titles as a sophomore. Not only is he the first Ole Miss men’s thrower to make the list, he’s only the fourth Rebel in men’s history.

The sweep made him the youngest in the NCAA men’s shot put titles indoors and outdoors since 1989, as well as the fourth-youngest to accomplish the task all time. In less than three full seasons at Ole Miss, Robinson O’Hagan has claimed many spots in the school record book. In the indoors, he won the top spot in the weight throw and the shot put, while claiming the hammer and shot put for the outdoors.

For his career, Robinson O’Hagan has notched 104 career SEC points along with nine SEC titles. He currently has three national titles, 10 All-America awards and 47 NCAA points scored under his belt.

The Semifinalist for The Bowerman award will be announced Wednesday, June 25 for the women, and Thursday, June 26 for the men. The finalists will be announced on the week of Monday, June 30. Robinson O’Hagan looks to add more triumph and achievements to his already legendary track & field career at Ole Miss.
