Tigers Leaves Their Opponents Scrambling
With a 13-3 victory, the Jackson State Tigers ran bases around UAPB (University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff) in their recent matchup.
Four players were able to put up multiple runs on the scoreboard. Jordan McCladdie, Joseph Eichelberger, Myles White, and Lenny Montesano were all able to score two runs in this game. Eichelberger not only ran home twice, but lead the team with five AB’s (at-bat) alongside teammate Robert Tate Jr. Montesano was responsible for four RBI’s (run’s batted in) and a two-run double, which was a huge help in the team’s victory.
Every player made this game their own. The Tigers came out of the den swinging and were able to put runs on the board in the first inning. With a secured lead of 9-0 before the third inning, the Golden Lions tried to close the gap. UAPB was able to secure three runs, and by the third inning the score came to 10-3. However, the Tigers held them right there. By the bottom of the ninth, Jackson State was looking at a lit up scoreboard that read 13-3.
Bases stolen, players struck out, and a win under the belt, the Tigers are now 2-0 in conference play, and face off their next opponent March 22nd.
