Dario Herrera Named Pitcher of the Week

Dario Herrera has earned pitcher of the week given his performance on March 23^rd against University of Tennessee Southern. William Carey University’s baseball team came together to win their series against U.T. Southern this past weekend 2-1. There were two games on Saturday with the outcomes favoring WCU 3-2, 2-0. Their game on Sunday was 3-5, but the Crusaders were able to clinch the series with an overall score of 2-1. The games were close, and if it was not for Herrera, WCU may have been in trouble. Herrera was able to pitch for six innings, strike out 10 batters, and allow only three hits in his Saturday games.

The teams next game is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26 against the university of West Alabama. The team has gone 18–10 overall, 9-6 in conference play, and hope to continue to keep a pleasant overall record.
