Jones Women’s Basketball Off to Dominant 10-1 Start, Eyes on MACCC Play

Jones College women’s basketball has had a nearly spotless season so far, boasting a 9-1 record. The Bobcats opened their season with a relentless rout of Southern Baptist College, leaving the court with 101 points to SBC’s 40.

With their most recent game cracking 100 points, Jones is hardly slouching this season. The team has topped 75 points five times, in part due to their fierce offense spearheaded by powerhouse Zharia Leflore.

In their ten games, the Bobcats have only lost to Chipola College, ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA and currently undefeated.

The Bobcats won’t MACCC play until January 12th, when they take on Hinds, but early stats suggest they’ll enter conference play as the team to beat. All eyes are on Leflore, who leads with 11.6 points per game.

Though MACCC play hasn’t yet begun, Jones’ momentum speaks to future success.
