Kennedy Carruth Carrying Mississippi Softball

Kennedy Carrauth has been named NFCA pitcher of the week and put on the NFCA DII pitcher of the year watchlist.

The Belhaven Blazer softball team has had an extremely successful season, and it is not over. Going 26-4 overall and 9-1 in conference play, a lot of their success can be accredited to their gifted pitcher Kennedy Carruth. Just this past week, Carruth was named the CCS pitcher of the week by the Collegiate Conference of the South. Last week, she threw a no-hitter in a doubleheader split against the No.12 team Huntington. Notably, she has been able to pitch nine games holding the opponent to zero runs and at 90% of all match ups she has been able to keep the opponent team at five runs or less.

Be on a lookout for more awards, coming her way, and for the team’s next game. They hope to restore their winning streak this Friday on April 5 against Piedmont in a two series game starting at 1 PM, and the second game scheduled for 3 PM.
