Tigers Make Opponents Beg for Mercy
Jackson State baseball is not shy when it comes to dominating on the baseball field. With a recent 14-4 victory, the Jackson State Tigers forced a mercy rule win over their opponents UAPB by the eighth inning.
In their recent April 2nd matchup, the Tigers were able to run home 14 runs and hold their opponents to four. Myles White is a notable player for the victory, as White had a total of four runs. Alongside White, the JSU team had two additional players who scored more than one run: Jordan McCladdie (2) and Hasan Standifer (2).
In terms of team statistics, runs were not the only thing that JSU was dominating in. They doubled in hits, having a total of 12 versus their opponent having six. They also had more stolen bases, walks, and strikeouts than their opponents.
The Tigers have an overall record of 20-8, and a conference record of 5-3. This recent victory has them on a 1-game winning streak, and their next matchup will be in a three game series taking place April 5th, 6th, and 7th against Bethune-Cookman. The team has hopes to gain three SWAC victories, will they be able to do it?
