Hailing from Mississippi, the junior embodies the rich culture of his home state. Morgan is not just any quarterback, and his current statistics are here to back him up.

Like any sport, statistics and records help prove a point. Not only is Jackson State University currently ranked No. 1 in SWAC standings, but they are favored to win their upcoming game this Saturday. Team statistics aside, let us look into JaCobian Morgan’s individual statistics and what makes them so great.

According to StatMuse, the average quarterback’s rushing yards in collegiate football is 7.5 yards per game. Here we have a player who is averaging 25 rushing yards a game. In the last three games alone, Morgan has rushed 163 yards for the Tigers.

When we look at Micheal Van Buren Jr, Mississippi State’s quarterback who recently won SEC freshman of the week for his performance for the Bulldogs, we see his completion percentages averaging a steady 50 percent. In fact, when you look at all of Van Buren Jr’s games, the percentage of completed passes is at most 54.1% and at lowest 52.2%. Now let us compare that to Morgan’s statistics. Morgan has games where his passing percentage is 82.1%. In fact, he has multiple games with a passing percentage is over 80%. Morgan averages a passing percentage of 64.4 percent. This is a huge difference, and a notable one because Morgan is being compared to SEC freshman of the week.

Clearly, Morgan has quite the arm on him. With 1236 total passing yards this season so far, he averages 176 passing yards per game and has multiple games with over 200 passing yards. Outside of throwing touchdowns, Morgan has rushed in 3 of his own.
