Unstoppable: Holmes and Mississippi Gulf Coast Football Stand Undefeated

As the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Conference (MACCC) heats up, two teams have emerged as the undeniable frontrunners: Holmes Community College and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Both teams have achieved an impressive 5-0 record, boasting a flawless 1.000 win percentage that sets the stage for an exciting showdown in the coming weeks.

These teams both fall under the MACCC conference, which is divided into North and South. In the North standings, there are multiple teams fighting for first place, as three teams are still undefeated in conference play. Northwest Mississippi is currently sitting at No. 1 with a conference record of 3-0, overall record of 4-1, and a win percentage of .800. Holmes is ranked No.2, with a conference record of 2-0 and overall record of an undefeated 5-0. Itawamba quickly follows as No.3 and the last team in the North division to go undefeated (2-0) in conference play so far. Their overall record mirrors Northwest Mississippi (4-1).

In the South’s division, Mississippi Gulf Coast stands alone in its undefeated conference play (3-0) and overall record of 5-0.

This makes MGCCC and Holmes the only two schools in the MACCC conference to have both an undefeated conference and overall record.
